However, I found it far too complicated and expensive for my purposes when I tried it out donkeys ago, but that’s just me. Many users are delighted with it. ▲ Collapse
It's free, it works, and it's simple

that's a website for translators.
Perhaps you mean Cafetran, top-notch CAT tool!
I tried different CAT tools since I started.
I like Memsource, but also TranslatorCafè and Crowind. I can use Smartcat but it isn't my first choice.
I never tried Trados, how is it?

I know what TranslatorsCafé is, but here is listed in the options as a CAT tool (???)...
Everyone should get Trados Studio simply because it is still the most commonly used tool, so most clients will want you to use it. memoQ is somewhat more intuitive (and easier on the eyes) and also quite common.

I use OmegaT and I like it, not just because it is free. I would have included it in the list.

If I had to recommend a commercial one I would go with memoQ, but for the purposes of going through the learning curve OmegaT is fully capable and has everything, and I really mean everything that commercial CAT tools have and does not cost a penny.
Would suggest to try it and donate.
OmegaT, since it's free and really simple.

Perhaps it has all features that *you* need, but certainly oT doesn't have all features that commercial tools offer.
