Hello,
I am an English-Bulgarian translator. A client of mine makes YouTube videos in Bulgarian and wants me to make subtitles for them in English. I was wondering if you could direct me to a free (or the cheapest) tool for video subtitling with Machine translation and/or automated timing.
There is some option in YouTube itself (in YouTube Studio) for automated timing, but I don't know how that works. I don't seem to be able to get it going.

There is some option in YouTube itself (in YouTube Studio) for automated timing, but I don't know how that works. I don't seem to be able to get it going.
I tried SyncWords, but it asks me for 0,50 USD/min for automated timing and 0,15 USD/min for machine translation for the reverse direction. There is no option to choose Bulgarian as a source language so I doubt the outcome.
Any kind of information on your side would be helpful.

Try SubtitleEdit-3.6.10-Setup.zip. It is a free piece of software. You can also open subtitles in two columns: File > Open original subtitle (translator mode)

**If, by any chance, you can understand Russian, also try this video. It explains how to use the Vosk/Kaldi model. However the Vosk/Kaldi model does not support Bulgarian, that is why you need to select the Whisper option.

Thank you for this info. I installed the product. Uploaded the video and basically followed the steps from your picture (which is very helpful, thank you), but after I press the button "generate" a message appears saying "No text found". I don't know what the problem is and how to fix it so I will try the other proposed options by Alina and if they don't work either, I will get back to this program and learn about it more so I can work with it.

My language is supported by the Vosk/Kaldi model, that is why I didn't try to gain a deeper insight into the Whisper's "No text found" issue. However, I tried to select 'basic model' and it worked then.

No, I tried base and tiny (large and medium also). It doesn't work. Maybe it is the video. I don't know. It keeps showing the same error.
Tried checking and unchecking the "Translate to English" box. Still no luck.
