Thought this new non-feature that was introduced in December last years was removed in the new update this year but not. So a software that costs several hundred euros does not have one of the basic features in the Windows OS - able to open an application by double clicking on a file. Oh yeah, it opens Studio all right, but doesn't perform the default action for that file. Very impressive, indeed. | | | Gitte Hovedskov (X) Denmark Local time: 23:26 English to Danish + ... You could probably have opened the file from within the program faster than the time it took you to write this post. | | | Thomas Loob Estonia Local time: 23:26 Member English to Swedish + ... TOPIC STARTER

Can you please elaborate on this? Trados works with multiple types of files (xliff, tm, tb, rtf, source file, etc.) and it can do multiple types of actions and tasks. Which one of them must be the default one? (BTW I can't even remember when I used Outlook last time... Why do you think that what is default and routine for you is still default and routine for everybody?) When you click a project file (*.sdlproj), Trados starts up. What default action it should run first in your opinion? Calculate statistics? Open a file? But which file? A project may contain a dozen or even a hundred of files. Which file Trados should begin with? The first one from top in the list? But why not all? All of them? But why not just the tenth and the fifteenth? There are too many scenarios to choose one by default. | |

As it could be a Windows problem and not the fault of Studio, it would help if you explained what "the default action" is. What type of file? What type of action? It seems that most people, including the undersigned, don't experience the problems you do, so complaining that it doesn't work as it should may not be warranted. Perhaps it doesn't do so on your system for some strange reason, but if it works as expected for most of the users, you can hardly say it doesn't work as it is supposed to in the majority of instances. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Trados Studio 2022 stillnot opening new job by double-clicking on project file in Outlook CafeTran Espresso | You've never met a CAT tool this clever!
