Portuguese Civil Code - authentic English version

I am looking for a website displaying the authentic English translation of the Portuguese Civil Code (Article 456 thereof to be precise).
Yahoo! and Google have not yielded results. Any suggestions would be welcome.

No official translation exists, to my knowledge Jan 23, 2009

I had the same issue this month while translating the draft civil code for Timor-Leste, which has much in common with the Portuguese civil code.

I did find one good reference: http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1280595. This is an unofficial partial English translation of the Macau civil code, which is also largely based on the Portuguese civil code... See more

Many thanks - I'll have a look a that soon (the dogs are forming a committee - walk is at the top of their agenda).

You are right that there is no official translation; I called at my lawyer's office this morning and he confirmed that. No wonder we couldn't find one!
