auswerten Explanation: Auch "evaluieren". Noch bevor ich den zweiten Satz gelesen hatte, kam mir "assess" in den Sinn. "[Richtig] einschätzen" finde ich deshalb ein wenig umpassend, weil es eine Note von Subjektivität hat.
