English translation: if inflation soars to 10%

Russian term or phrase:

"inflation unwinds" About 469 results (0.25 seconds).

E.g.: Inflation unwinds . WASHINGTON Americans can expect a slow reduction in unemployment next year, but face inflation of at least per cent at the same time [...] http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q="inflation unwinds"&s...

spins up to / rockets to / shoots to ...

Explanation:
But I'd go with "goes up" as the most neutral option.

As a result, they can push up costs and prices, even though demand is weak. Just as inflation winds up, it can gradually and over time be made to wind down.

disagree  The Misha: You can't say "inflation winds up to ..." This is just incorrect, unidiomatic usage. "Wind up" has a very specific meaning similar to Russian "okazatsya" or "ochutitsya".

disagree  rns: Inflation can't "wind up", by dictionary definition — http://www.thefreedictionary.com/To wind up
