Creio que trata-se do ato de registro do casamento. No cartório de registro civil registram-se nascimentos, mortes, casamentos, divórcios, emancipação de menores, tutela, curatela... cada registro tem um código diferente (atualmente o Brasil inteiro adota uma mesma codificação - novo modelo de certidões, agora nacional)
