I love her dearly as long as I live, I truly love her beyond my being Explanation: This is a verse from Iraj Mirza, the great Iranian poet. English version: Breaking loose from my mother's womb She bore me they say, into this larger womb In her arm she then made me to settle, Guiding my mouth, so her breath I may suckle. At night beside my cradle rocking, Awake she stayed and taught my sleeping. Step by step my hand held firmly, She taught my ways of walking gently. A letter or two on my tongue she planted, Then rolled in words, my speech she prompted. Anon so lovingly she beamed a smile, To coax a grin and make me smile. Like a flower blossom that blooms a while, She taught me gently to bloom a smile. With so much pain she bore my being, In this world indeed I owe her my being. I love her dearly as long as I live, I truly love her beyond my being. https://books.google.com/books?id=hP1tbaLnhG0C&pg=PA139&lpg=PA139&dq=mother+by+Iraj+mirza,+I+love+her+as+long+as&source=bl&ots=Qj2DKlotmx&si |
