Arabic term or phrase: أتمر بأمره وحده
Hi everyone,

I think there's a typo in this sentence because there two alifs at the start of this verb and it's not a question. I'm going to type it
as it appears in text. Does it mean 'obey his every order' or 'at his beck and call?'

لا ألمس مريضا دون إذنه، ولا أعالج أحدا دون استشارته، أنا هنا تلميذته أأتمر بأمره وحده،
لم يهبني كل الحرية فقد كنت دائما كظله، يتحرك فأتحرك، ويسكن فأسكن ...

Thank you!

act upon

Explanation:
act upon his own orders/commands/instructions.
The word "only" for وحده creates ambiguity whether it introduces or concludes the phrase "only +verb+his...." or "verb+only...". I am suggesting "own" to work around the issue.
However, I must say that therevare hints throughout the S.T. that compel me to look at the polar side of "command".
