salient moment of admission testing/examinations Explanation: To enter a French Grand école one must normally pass an entry examination. This competitive (that is some will get in , others will be eliminated) exam is taken in two steps. Normally a first step is a written essay or other test, which determines a shortlist (not so short often) of "admissibles". Admissibles is someone who's been deemed good enough in the first stage to move onto the "admission" stage, which is the famous "oral" or oral examination. The "période des admissibles" is that time between the two stages in which candidates that went through the first stage (the "admissibles") congregate at campuses to take their oral exam and hope to make the grade to enter the school. During this tie student already enrolled sometimes works as caperons or in other capacities to introduce the "admissibles" to future campus life or just guide and assist them through the period of the oral exams. https://www.mondedesgrandesecoles.fr/admissibles-2020-commen... |
