French term or phrase: normes de bon fonctionnement
T&Cs for a equipment maintenance contract. Not clear what type of machinery may be involved but it involves spare parts, wear parts, structured maintenance, etc. When I checked AAA online I found it was a company selling frozen food products, so slightly mysterious.

"Le remplacement des pièces détachées seront effectués exclusivement par le Prestataire, selon les normes de bon fonctionnement du matériel définies par AAA, ou à défaut, celles définies par le fabricant du composant de la Solution concerné."

Linguee suggests "serviceability standards".

English translation:standard conditions for operation in service
Explanation:
Careful, normes here does not mean a document but 'what is the norm'. Of course the 'norms' will be consigned to a document, but that does not make it a standard.

You'll find 'standard conditions for operation in service' googles to the content of loads of 'standards' in the documentary sense, but none that I looked at actually displayed the text in question.

you'll find standard conditions for operation of a measuring instrument.
While they include such things as environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, pressure), they also include characteristics of the instrument that must be respected for it to operate correctly (resolution, accuracy, range, etc.). If for any reason those characteristics change, the instrument will be measure correctly. That is why instruments need to be calibrated at regular intervals.

In the case of a motorcar, for example, standard conditions for operation would include the depth of tyre tread, the quality and temperature of the engine oil, the residual thickness of brake pads, play in the steering, etc., all those things covered by your MOT.

Good working order standards

Explanation:
The replacement of spare parts is the exclusive responsibility of the Service Provider, complying with the definition of good working order standards of the equipment as defined by AAA, or failing that, those defined by the manufacturer of the components of the solution concerned.

neutral  Tony M: Not really idiomatic in EN. And 'good working order' isn't really what this text is about — you've over-translated by adding 'order', which would translate an 'état'' that is absent from the S/T

criteria/policy regarding good working condition

Explanation:
I imagine that in AAA's case, the ST may refer to equipment used to maintain the 'chaîne du froid'.

norme is not strictly speaking a 'standard' in this case, as it is defined by AAA and may include requirements that are more stringent than any published 'standard'.

Justification for 'good working condition' can be found here:

agree  Johannes Gleim: Probably correct. It's only a company-own standard or work procedure with instructions. Cf. ISO 9000.

neutral  philgoddard: Companies can have standards, as Johannes says.

-> So-called 'standards' set by individual companies are most-often nothing more than in-house specifications, but the companies hope that calling them 'standards' will impress their suppliers, customers and/or govt. inspectors.

neutral  Zorra Renard: Agree with Phil, and with your comment in the DB above.
