French term or phrase: descendant
This whole text relates to sonograms of bird calls. The term "descendant" appears frequently as in this example:
"quelques notes sont descendantes et d'autres montant"
After searching I have found the term "downslurred" or "in a downward slur" in other contexts but am not sure if this is correct.

downslurred (notes)
Explanation:
Or downward

Many species have very abrupt or very subtle upslurs or downslurs that are helpful for identification but difficult to hear. Paying attention to pitch changes as you listen to bird songs will quickly increase your ability to detect these changes
