District Crown Court Explanation: Ha Willemina, Registry doet inderdaad aan aan de regelrechte vertaling van 'griffie' denken.Maar ik denk dat uiteindelijk het woord 'Court' onbedoeld vervangen is door 'Registry'. Voor zover ik redelijkerwijs kan nagaan, denk ik dat hier 'in hoger beroep' bedoeld wordt, dus het hogere beroep voor County Court inderdaad het 'arrondissement' betreft, en voor de Crown Court is het appeal de Hoge Raad, dus the 'House of Lords'. Ze hebben hier het 'court' weggelaten in de District Registry, maar dan is het toch nog wel inderdaad 'Arrondissementsgriffie'. Alleen weet ik niet was de griffie te maken heeft met het concept 'hoger beroep'. Dus ik denk dat ze gewoon 2 dingen door elkaar halen. Ik heb er mijn 'Britain' boek nog even op nageslagen, 'magistrate's court' is the lowest court, etc. en dan the 'Crown's Court, en dan 'the Appeals Court. Je kent uiteraard het Britse systeem, dat the House of Lords het equivalent van onze Hoge Raad is. Toch moeilijk en ook verwarrend om te bekijken wat hier echt bedoeld wordt. Grz.
