impactletter Explanation: See my various Reference comments and Discussion entry. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 25 mins (2016-06-25 22:46:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "GEBRUIKSBEPERKINGEN Kijk de oogbescherming regelmatig na; lenzen met putjes of krassen en beschadigde kaders kunnen leiden tot een slechtere bescherming. (http://solutions.3mnederland.nl/wps/portal/3M/nl_NL/Eyewear/... ) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 hrs (2016-06-26 10:43:01 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The following explains difference between "impact" + "inslag" in this context: "Lensmateriaal kan bestaan uit verschillende materialen: kunststof, CR 39 of polycarbonaat. Reference: refs Reference information: This is what it means: See e.g.: "PROTECTION AGAINST HIGH SPEED PARTICLES Mechanical resistance A (T), B (T), F (T) (T) if the impact letter (F, B or A) is followed by the letter T, then the eyewear protects against impact at extreme temperatures (-5°/ +55°C)" (http://safety.univet.it/wp-content/uploads/catalogo_safety_U... ) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 mins (2016-06-25 22:28:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "T: This letter after the impact letter allows use with extreme temperature particles (-5 to +55 °C). Only used on a very limited range of products. In simple terms glasses are usually rated at F, goggles at B and visors at A" (http://ppe-global.co.uk/PPECatalogue.pdf ) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 mins (2016-06-25 22:29:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Symbol T is used in conjunction with either F, B or A to indicate that the eye-protector conforms to the high speed particle classification at extremes of temperature. If the impact letter is not followed by the symbol T then the eye-protector shall only be used against high speed particles at room temperature." (https://www.directa.co.uk/datasheets/617.pdf ) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 10 mins (2016-06-25 22:31:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Mechanical strength Mechanical strength requirements Minimum robustness Increased robustness Low energy impact Medium energy impact High energy impact Code None S F B A If the symbol F,B and A are not common to both the oculars and the frame then it is the lower which shall be assigned to the complete eye protector. For an eye protector to comply with field of use symbol 9 both the frame and ocular shall be marked with the symbols together with one of the symbols F, B or A. WARNING If protection against high speed particles at extremes of temperature is required then the selected eye-protector should be marked with the letter T immediately after the impact letter, i.e. FT, BT or AT. If the impact letter is not followed by the letter T then the eye protector shall only be used against high speed particles at room temperature." (http://www.cateyewear.com/safety-directives.html ) |
