English to Swedish translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / safety rules for maintenance
English term or phrase: firecrackers
my question: what are firecrackers - for welding, that is electrodes?
the test regards:
safety rules for maintenance personnel
and for welders
Examples:
Power must be cut off when installing the safety stops and firecrackers on the rails.

It will only be sufficient to place the warning firecrackers on the rails, provided that a person, either on the ground or on the crane, watches for the other cranes on the same runways and if necessary signals messages to the other crane operators with suitable means.

Swedish translation:varningsljus
Explanation:
"In this context, 'firecrackers' refers to warning signals placed on tracks to alert about dangers or ongoing work. Surely, this is track-related?

These can be acoustic or light-based signals used to alert personnel that work is ongoing or that safety measures need to be considered. I have translated tram-related stuff myself, and this occurred. But it was from Danish, and I don't recall the exact term.

This is most likely a light, and then it's simply called a 'varningsljus.' See the side reference. They are used to enforce safety regulations for maintenance personnel and welders and to minimize the risks of accidents in the workplace.

However, verify with the client that it is indeed a warning light being referred to, and not an acoustic device."
