This questions is only for those living in Pakistan. Could you please tell me what term/terms are used when asking to buy batteries in Pakistan...I remember "cell" being used as the general term before the wireless gadgets era, but I think a phone battery may just be called a بیٹری.

In Pakistan what would a person need to ask for at the store, for the following types of batteries:

The regular C, D, AA, AAA batteries (that were called "cells" in Pakistan)
Wrist watch batteries (the small disk type...also called "cells" I think.)
wireless phone batteries
digital camera batteries
cell phone batteries

I won't be a good judge of accuracy here, but since it's a general question, I'll select the timely and most helpful response, especially if there is peer agreement.

Thank you.

بیٹریاں
Explanation:
Its still the same in Pakistan......

...a "battery" is a "بیٹری", "batteries" is "بیٹریاں" , a "cell" is still a "سیل" whereas we also use "سیل" for "cells" because Urdu does not use an "s" for plurals.

agree  Quamrul Islam: بیٹری => بیٹریاں is OK. By the way, the plural of سیل can also be written as سیلز .

Explanation:
I can categorize for convenience.

All the batteries available in A, AA, AAA, C or D sizes and wrist watch battery (disklike batteries)are called as "cell" سیل
The other type of batteries (modern shapes, different to "cell shaped" batteries, like that of mobile phone, digital camera, usually rechargables) are called as بیٹری
