credit for academic-cum-vocational subject-areas Explanation: Don't forget the domaines ! For a change, doesn't mean 'estates', but *overlapping* academic and prof. subject-areas e.g. my UK-qualified chartered-accountant school friend in Vancouver, BC, requalified in the allied area (domaine) of insolvency practice. Tried in vain to post this 2 hours ago. Example sentence(s):

carry forward (course marks awarded previously) Explanation: Re: "I am confused about what this "bénéfice" is?" Avantage que procure une personne ou une chose. https://www.cnrtl.fr/definition/bénéfice In other words, bénéfice means here that students can keep (conserver) for later the rights granted by marks obtained in a previous exam session. These Canadian sources use "carry forward" in a similar context: "Marks from a previous paper, on which a grade of 60 marks (60%) or more was achieved, may carry that mark forward to this year." https://cpata-cabamc.ca/en/become-an-agent/scoring-results-a... (The French version says reporter, which to me means the same as conserver le bénéfice de) "If you fail a first-year Science course but complete all of the laboratory work and obtain a passing grade in the lab, you may apply for a carry-forward using the Application for a Laboratory Carry-Forward Form." https://science.ontariotechu.ca/undergraduate/academic-advis... Suggestion: le candidat... peut conserver pendant 5 ans à compter de... le bénéfice des... > "the candidate... may carry forward over a 5-year period from... the marks/results achieved/awarded in..." ? (Note: this is an extended version of my discussion post yesterday, which I decided to turn into a "proper" answer since there has been no other suggestion yet.) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 hrs (2023-11-14 10:17:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry about those mad italics! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 19 hrs (2023-11-14 11:15:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Copying the links again: https://cpata-cabamc.ca/en/become-an-agent/scoring-results-a... https://science.ontariotechu.ca/undergraduate/academic-advis... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 hrs (2023-11-14 14:56:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Re Adrian's comment on my missing an aspect of the question. I'm not aware that I did - that aspect is covered by "course marks" in my mind (what is a course, if not a group of subjects?) and my explanation notes. But I'm happy to replace "course" by "subject" if that makes it more complete/clear. In any case, I meant to answer Joanna's specific question about bénéfice in this context ("I am confused about what this "bénéfice" is?"). Her question doesn't refer to any "professional" or "general" subject. |
