German term or phrase: über CHF
A person in Switzerland writes:

Hiermit bestätigte ich Ihnen, dass die Zahlung über CHF xxx,xx vom yy. Dezember 2023 an Sie in Zusammenhang mit dem gewährten Darlehen steht.

I expected "die Zahlung von CHF..." but I suppose "über" means the same here. Could you confirm?

English translation:1. amounting to 2. of over
Explanation:
It's von, in Höhe or im Betrag von and, albeit outside of Switzerland and Liechtenstein, not unequivocal.

Otherwise, it would be professionally unwise / negligent to fail to point out the ambiguity.

As a Swiss-German relative of mine used to groan: 'es ist mir über!'

neutral  AllegroTrans: 1. is correct, 2. (in the context) cannot possibly be correct

neutral  Marion Linssen: with AllegroTrans. "of over" is definitely wrong. It is not "more than" in this case.

neutral  philgoddard: Yet again, and bizarrely, neither your 'example sentence' nor your 'reference' contains the word being asked about.

neutral  Steffen Walter: Or "in the amount of". Your second option is definitely off the mark.

Asker: Thanks a lot! And this is normal German, no Swiss specialty? If it were, I guess you would have noted it.
