Unfortunately, your proposed translation is one that I've never heard of. I get 17 hits when I Google the phrase "occurrence of covered loss", which makes me doubt that this is a common or widely accepted term. On the other hand, "insured event" is a much clearer and commonly used term.

An occurrence is an instance in time when something happens. That something is an event, which in this case has been insured against, and that "against" matters. I haven't found evidence suggesting that insurance policies originally written in English really use expressions such as "insured event/occurrence": it's about the first thing a Russian would come up with when translating such an expression. If colleagues say it's legit—well, I won't argue
