piece, or gun Explanation: I asked my Swedish-native-speaker son, who immediately said "Archer... that's an artillery piece". Also, I see "piece, gun" for this military-related sense in the Norstedt Sw>En Ordbok. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 mins (2024-03-09 17:44:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- To be precise, the dictionary entry says "piece [of ordnance]... gun". It seems pretty clear to me that you can use the term "piece" to translate this. It'll work fine in context. |
