toper Explanation: This seems to be a line in the poem بزمها by بارق شفیعی https://pressa.tj/9453/ دختران میپرست seems to have a strong negative connotation on that context. It also seems not about wine, which has a positive vibe in the Persian literature, but about heavy drinking of alchol by posh girls. 'toper' is old-style, like میِ پَرست "Let him alone," said an old toper; and Griffith remained a good hour with his head on the table. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/toper#:~:text=noun Literar... 'Dispomaniac' also gives the same meaning. However, it might be a bit heavy here. The line would be something like 'the gigles of maiden topers'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2023-05-08 10:22:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- See the discussion about the meaning of میپرست in Persian. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/toper#:~:text=noun%20Literary.,frequently%20intoxicated%3B%20a%20heavy%20drinker. |
