Italian term or phrase: tracolla a mano
Can anyone help with the phrase "tracolla a mano" in the description of a clutch bag: "Busta in maglia con tracolla a mano". It's in a simple listing of catalogue articles, so no other context I'm afraid. I'm confused as I thought "tracolla" was "shoulder strap", so I'm not sure how the "mano" comes in! Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Wristlet (Wristlet Strap)
Explanation:
This seems to be used with either with or without "strap".

I think "colla" might refer to the fixing on of the strap to the bag and wrist (colla= like glue), rather than to the upper "collo" area of the body.

... that is to say that the term is describing the fixing on of a small purse to your arm/wrist (so forget any similar sound reference to the neck area). See here:

I'm going for this, but if I manage to obtain a photo and it turns out to be something else, I'll come back and modify. Thanks to everyone.

Really one where you need a photo to be sure, or ask the client but on this site they say the bag can be carried "over your shoulder, linked through your arm, or gracefully carried in your hand. " thanks to its short shoulder strap

over the shoulder or by hand

Explanation:
I believe the correct phrase is "tracolla o mano"
the letter "o" is missing!

It can be worn over the shoulder or as a handbage.

clutch bag with shoulderstrap

Explanation:
I wonder if the word order is wrong and it should read "busta a mano in maglia con tracolla".

This type of grammatical error, where the most important qualifier (it's a HANDbag) is shifted to later in the sentence, is common in English and other languages.

Often we don't even notice it - we just mentally rearrange the words so that they make sense.
