English translation:County (AmE) Sheriff (BrE) DL / Deputy Lieutenant
Explanation:
To start the ball rolling. The translation could go different ways Transatlantically - Sheriff is a Scottish magistrate or, previously in England a Wales (E&W), a High Court Bailiff - and Down Under in OZ.

DL - Deputy Lieutenant as a ceremonial title in the UK and, often being a retired military officer, medic or lawyer / Solicitor appointed on a nod as well as on 'merit' would come closer to the Spanish formulation, but doesn't get embroiled in messy domestic violence cases.

The only problem with a High Court Tipstaff is that s/he is not a regional, but a Superior Court Officer, enforcement officer commanded to stop child abductions out of the country etc.

neutral  philgoddard: If you'd just said 'sheriff' I might have agreed, but as usual you've muddied the waters with lots of utterly irrelevant stuff about Scotland and high-court tipstaffs

-> Then you, in your diffidence, ought to have posted plain 'sheriff' yourself, though sheriff is still used by the old London High Court school for a senior bailiff. Otherwise, has to be narrowed down 4 General teniente político [m] EC local politician

neutral  AllegroTrans: This is MUCH too localised and the stuff about Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland is totally irrelevant. And do you really think High Court tipstaffs have got anything to do with this?
3 hrs
-> I considered Tipstaff as well as DL / Deputy Lieutenant, the last officer you had been 'remiss' in missing for the 'British Isles'.

teniente político [parish state representative]

Explanation:
I think "localization" into US terms such as "sheriff" is misleading
The text is from a completely different legal and admin system and I think retaining the Spanish and providing an explanatory in brackets is the best solution here.

neutral  philgoddard: I think 'parish state' is confusing, and the translation has to include some sort of reference to law enforcement.

disagree  Adrian MM.: You missed Deputy Lieutenant. Sheriff is ambiguous for mag in Scotland & also owing to the *residual* London High Court bailiff connotations you 'forgot'. PS AB & I are under a mutual ProZ ban and bar on commenting on each other's 'pearls of wisdom'.

I assume that "Mayor's Office" could be used for "politician's office", if "teniente polñitico" is "Mayor?"

Based on the fact that the document is written by a judge overseeing a case of domestic violence and responding to a request for an order of protection, it would appear that "teniente político" would more than likely be the "magistrate."
